EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIPS

At The Women of Pader Uganda, we believe that investing in the next generation is key to sparking hope, healing, and empowerment in Pader. Education is a powerful tool for breaking cycles of poverty, yet in Uganda, only 52% of people have completed primary school. In Pader, where financial barriers are even greater, many families can’t afford tuition fees for either public or private education. Learn more about how we support education and invest in the future of Pader below.

Primary School Scholarships

TWOPU offers scholarships to primary school students, prioritizing those in vulnerable Mercy Program families and those demonstrating academic dedication. We guarantee financial support through graduation, covering tuition, books, school supplies, uniforms, and some boarding. This ensures that even the most disadvantaged children in Pader have the opportunity to pursue their education and build a brighter future.

Technical Scholarships

TWOPU provides scholarships for teens and young adults to pursue two years of vocational education and training in fields like construction, tailoring, hair styling, and more. Each scholarship includes all the necessary tools for their chosen trade. For many students in Pader, technical programs offer a more accessible path after or instead of primary school, providing them with the skills they need to enter the workforce and create sustainable futures.

Weekly Meetings

Each week, our staff meets with scholarship students to read scripture, share life lessons, and discuss their studies and skills. This regular connection creates a supportive community, encouraging students to stay focused and committed to their education. By walking alongside them, we can help foster both their personal and academic growth, ensuring they stay motivated and on track for success.

Graduation Gifts

When our students graduate, we make sure they have the tools they need to stand out in their field. Whether it’s a sewing machine for a tailor, styling tools for a hairdresser, or safety gear for a contractor, these supplies help remove barriers to getting a job and show employers that they’re serious and ready to work. It’s our way of setting them up for success and ensuring they have every opportunity to thrive in their careers.
